Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 a green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup dry rice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 8 oz cans tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add onion, bell pepper, rice, garlic, and hamburger and saute until hamburger is no longer pink.
  • Add tomato sauce, water, dry mustard, and chili powder and bring to a boil.
  • Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
